The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip, an extremely magnificent seaside golf course, lies on the beautiful beach of Ba Ria Vung Tau. Many golfers come here to sink in the sand and the hot sun of southern Vietnam. Or as others would choose, to take a few days off from the bustle Ho Chi Minh city and just enjoy 3 hours driving trip to this stunning course.
Due to its location, The Bluffs is destined to become a top golf course but through the hand of its designer, the course shines even more. The Ho Tram golf course is designed by “the Great white shark” champion Greg Norman and truly presents the style of its architect. He and his team have come up with a plan to make use of the land but still try their best to remain the natural state as much as possible. “Streams, rock features, vegetation and undulating topography" all these elements have made The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip a unique one of a kind golf course. Golf Digest has voted The Bluffs on top 35 of the world 100 greatest golf courses, the club really deserved this position.
This par-71 championship course situated on a rugged sandy area with strong different height levels. Compared to the lowest parts, the highest part of the course is 50 meters higher. Although that can make the whole view of the course become somewhat exciting, the challenge still lies beneath its beauty. The unpredicted powerful sea wind, till this day, has blown away some golfers' attempts in setting up shots. For each season, the direction of the winds also differs from its previous. Besides that, the sandy ground gives the perfect condition for fairways, good drainage, and turf conditions.
The signature hole of the course comes pretty soon on the 4th. It is a par-3 hole with a full view of the entire course, from the sea till the Grand hotel. The green is set on a cliff among many brushes which continue to run to the left side of the hole. So the smart way is to approach the right route. However, the course’s designer has put some pot-style bunkers on the right side to challenge the players.
Another remarkable hole of the course is the 651 yards par-5 16th. It is the longest par-5 throughout The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip. But do not hold yourself back because of the distance, the hole in return is a comfortable S shape and mostly played downhill. Run across the high dunes fairways you will reach the green that is surrounded by sand bunkers on the left. The 16th green hides behind a wall of trees, tricky, but fun to play.
Some other holes are also crafted on the highland, for example, the highest 15th (longest par 3), which gives players the chance to have the superb view of all the rolling dune and the gorgeous ocean in front.
Ho Tram golf course clubhouse is a large three-level modern architecture. Other than standard facilities like the Pro shop and locker room, the clubhouse also offers a full course of local cuisine. You can take a break with southern Vietnamese dishes and a glass of beer, watching the sun setting down in front of your eyes, what a leisure day to enjoy. The clubhouse is also visible from some of the most stunning holes of the course. Featured PGA standard golf academy and driving range, golfers will have a chance to practice and warm-up before going into the official play.
The course also provides accommodation with 5-star resort, The Grand Ho Tram Strip, in just a few minutes from the golf course. This resort has more than 500 rooms, 10 restaurants with a mini Las Vegas casino place.
